Major Russian Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Local officials said the urban area endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The strikes come after evenings of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were anticipating additional strikes.
